Valkplant
This company was founded in 1992 by Ria van der Poel and was a pioneer in Europe in the protection of new garden plants. In a nutshell, this company specializes in the testing, protection, commercial development, and marketing of new plant varieties.
It started with Hebe ‘Rosie’ from Bransford Nurseries and now encompasses almost 300 varieties protected with EU plant breeders' rights. Some of the most successful varieties are the cute dwarf Berberis thun. Admiration, the sterile Buddleja Chip Series, the Hydrangea arb. Strong Annabelle and Loropetalum chin. Black Pearl.
Valkplant has its offices and trial grounds at the same address as the W. van der Poel & Zoon nursery.
